Some Family Pictures...

Here are some fall pictures of the 4 of us as a little family. I think they would have turned out pretty good but I need to learn how to work the settings on my camera as they turned out too light from the flash.

Trick-or-Treating

Great-Grandpa Gene & Conner
Uncle John helping Emma into the firetruck.
Emma & Uncle John at the firehouse.

Tonight we had a fun time trick-or-treating. First of all we went to the firehouse where Uncle John was working; serving hot dogs, chili and other goodies to all the visitors. Emma loved being in the firetruck and she really idolizes her Uncle John!!!!! Then Grandma Nancy & Grandpa Randy stopped by the house and brought a goodie bag to Emma. After they left we went to see Great-Grandma Bernie and Great-Grandpa Gene and then came home. I'm sure next year we will HAVE to go all over town!!!!! We had a good night out and the weather was perfect!!!

Today, 10.31.2008, my Grandma Bernie went with me to take the kids to do some trick-or-treating at my Mom's work and also to go see Grandma Opal. What a perfect opportunity to get the kids pictures taken with both of their great-grandma's!!!!!
It was so hard to pick out just one picture as Emma was being a little stinker and not wanting to look at the camera for me!!!!!

Lunch with Great-Grandma

Today, Great-Grandma Bernie treated us to lunch. She helped take the kids around in their Halloween costumes to a couple of places in town today (Sara's Mom's work and to see Great-Grandma Opal).

Conner, 10-28-2008

This morning I was cleaning up Emma's room and brought Conner in, in the jumperoo. He loves to be in this thing watching everything/everyone around him!!

Big Girl = Big Changes

Big Girl = Big Changes.
Over the weekend we did away with Emma's binky!!! I feel bad that we had to take that away from her but she is doing just fine without it and has only asked for it a time or two. When she does say "I want binky" we just quickly change the subject and redirect her attention to something else. Also, we set up a full size bed in her room. We converted her toddler bed back into a crib for Conner. It's amazing that it just took getting a bigger bed for her to start sleeping in her room all by herself!!!!!

The Kids 10-23-2008

We have had Emma's Tinkerbell costume she is going to wear for Halloween for about 2 weeks now but I just tried it on her for the 1st time today! She really likes it. I have a feeling I'm going to need to buy some thick tights and a pink or green long sleeve turtleneck for her to wear under the costume -- it's probably going to be pretty chilly by next week.
PS - The Emma Twister went through our living room so pay no attention to the mess in the background!!!!

She kept waving the paper hanger around that the costume came on saying, "Make a wish."
Conner playing on the floor in big sisters room! He loves rolling around and grabbing the toys that have been scattered all over her floor.
Watch out everybody -- I'm going to be crawling very soon!!!!
Emma in her princess hat. I couldn't get her to look at me to get a good picture!!! Can you believe this is the same hat I had as a little girl!!!

PS - Any suggestions on how to keep clothes on Emma? Hopefully this is just a phase but she keeps taking her clothes off and running around in her diaper!!!

Laundry Basket = FUN

OK so we have discovered that Emma LOVES to play in the laundry basket. The other night she wanted me to put "Con-A" (how she says Conner) in the basket with her. She was so impatient that I didn't get a chance to clean off his face after dinner!!! Who knew that inexpensive items around the house are the best for playtime!!!!

Conner's 6-month Check-Up

This is a little out of date order but on Friday, 10-10-2008, I took Conner in for his 6-month well child check-up. Here are his stats:

Length: 27 1/4 inches long - 90th percentile
Weight: 18 lbs 4 oz - 75th percentile

He had to have 3 immunization shots in his little legs and 1 oral immunization. He did very well and this time didn't develop much of a fever like he did at his 4-month check-up. We do have him on a generic Zantac because he was spitting up even an hour or two after we would last feed him, getting up every 2-3 hours through the night and so they started him on the medication. It seems to be doing the trick as he is sleeping much better and not spitting up near as much. We're hoping this is something he will outgrow. Other than that he is a healthy, happy boy!

What to do when it's raining.

Since we couldn't be outside playing because of the rain, the girls decided to empty Emma's laundry basket in her room and climb in.
They had a GREAT time!
(This was taken about 30 minutes after Emma woke up so I hadn't had time to do anything with her hair yet....that's why it is so crazy!)
Conner looking on at the girls....someday very soon he too will be climbing in and out of laundry baskets with them.

The Kiddos.

Conner enjoying being outside! He just wishes he could have been running around with Emma and the little girl I watch!!
On Friday, 10.10.2008, we were in town so we stopped by to see Grandma Opal. She loved to see the kids and we had a nice visit.
Emma playing peek-a-boo with me as I was taking her picture.

Sleeping Conner

Last night when I came home from work I found Conner in the bassinet sleeping up on his knees like shown. This is a new sleep position for him...he normally sleeps on his side so it was interesting to see him like this.

U.S. Geographic Center

We have passed this marker many times before going to and from Nebraska but we had to make a pit stop anyway so while we were pulled off the road we took a picture of the sign. I just thought it was neat that we were in the center of the entire U.S.

Grandpa Larry in his Chevelle going through the parade.
Just picked up a few more pieces == she ended up with a LOT of candy!!!
After a long day of being outside at 'Pork Days' and later on watching the Nebraska Huskers football game and Uncle George and Aunt Dee's house the kids were exhausted!!!! Here they are curled up on Grandma Kathleen's lap.

Picnic

It was gorgeous outside so we decided to eat on the patio!!!! The food was very yummy and it was a nice change to be outside eating. As you can tell by the last picture (which we were playing around with the camera settings) Conner enjoyed his dinner too!!!

Wagon

While we were in Nebraska we had all been outside and Conner fell asleep so we just put a blanket in the bottom of the wagon and laid him down....but because he is such a light sleeper he woke up soon after we put him down. Anyway, check out his big ole' blue eyes!!! Who would have thunk it that I would have blue eyed kids!! :o)

Emma helping Mommy pack for our trip to Nebraska.
Later that night after we were all packed and ready to I was trying to get Conner to sleep in the recliner and Emma wanted to be in my lap too. After both kids were asleep then Missy the cat decided she also wanted to be on my lap!!! Guess it's good I've got plenty of room.
