The Start Of A Nice Weekend...

Today is warmed up to a little over 50 degrees and it was sunny so we went outside to play! Emma LOVES to be outside and the winter has been extremely long this year so it was good to get her outside and breathe some fresh air.

PS - Notice I was able to put her hair up in a pebbles-do and she's left it in there!!!! Tomorrow she gets her 1st haircut so be sure to check back for those picture.

Deodorant Stick

Emma has seen Mommy & Daddy putting on deodorant before!!! Anytime she's able to reach one of our sticks of deodorant she carries it around the house, lifting her shirt up and rubs the (unopened) stick on her belly. It is so funny to watch her.

WebCam

**Bear with me -- the video is supposed to be more than 2 seconds long...trying to figure out how to get the whole thing on here**

Ok, we got a new computer because the one we did have was on its last leg. We have had fun playing around with different settings/programs. Last night Lewis tried to email me this video of him and Emma talking and he has it set to record in "chipmunk" voices.....cracks me up!!!

Being a "Core Mom"

Today I had a regular OB appointment with my midwife which went well. She said she had a nursing student that needed to follow someone who was pregnant for their nursing classes at Washburn. She asked if I would be a "core mom" for her which will include allowing the student to attend a few of my OB appointments, be in the room when I have Conner and then will possibly make a home visit after we are all settled in. I agreed to this as I thought to myself that if I had gone on with my nursing school I would have appreciated someone allowing me to observe as well. My midwife said she would give the student my name and number and the student will be contacting me in the near future and we'll go from there. I think it will be interesting.

Play Date, 02-19-2008

Today Emma had a play date and she had a blast climbing all over the toys. It's nice to have somewhere to take her to run off some energy that is indoors since it is still so terribly cold out.

Goodbye Dada!

Today Lewis called me at work to let me know what Emma did/said. He said that she took my scarf that I normally wear when it's cold outside, wrapped it around her a couple of times and then proceeded to grab onto the front door handle. She then turned around to Lewis, started waving and said, "Goodbye Dada." I wish he could have caught it on video!!! She is constantly amazing us and makes us laugh all the time!!!!

1st Potty Chair Attempt

Emma has been starting to show some signs that maybe she's ready for a potty chair so we bought one over the weekend to introduce her to. She was needing a bath so I decided to sit her down on the potty chair and give it a try. We didn't force her to stay on it but want her to start getting familiar with it. Anyway, she didn't end up going tinkle in the potty chair, instead about 10 seconds after I started the bath water for her she ended up tinkling on the rug. Oh well.
PS - I know some day she'll see this picture and not be very happy with Mommy or Daddy but I HAD to put it on here!!!!

Emma walking around in the little bit of snow that is left over from our latest snow storm. When we put her down to walk in the snow she still doesn't know quite what to think of it but eventually she starts stomping around.

Emma LOVED playing with the balloons at Kaleb's 2nd Birthday Party!! She also had a BLAST getting to play with all the other kids that were there.
So happy!!!
They played with the balloons for quite a while!!! Guess we need to buy a package of balloons to blow up and keep around the house?!? Emma sure did have a fun time!
Helping the birthday boy open his presents!!!

Sentence.

Emma has started saying her first sentence just within the last 1-2 days. When looking for her binky she will now say, "Bink, where are you?" Although her words are not as clear as mine or yours for a 1 1/2 year old it's pretty amazing!!! To hear her start to put words together....she's really starting to get to be such a big girl!!!
