Well Child Check-Ups

On Friday, July 25th Lewis and I took the kids in for their well child check-ups.

Conner's stats:
Length - 25 inches (90th percentile)
Weight - 15lbs 3 ounces (90th percentile)
He had to have 4 more immunization shots in his legs and 1 oral immunization, needless to say he wasn't a very happy camper for the next day or so and ended up running a little bit of a low grade fever.

Emma's stats:
Length - 34.50 inches (75th percentile)
Weight - 27lbs 11 ounces (75th percentile)
She had to have a booster shot in her leg. While we were there we also let the pediatrician know that she has been drinking A LOT of liquid, even before it became hot so she placed a bag on Emma to catch some urine in right there in the office, checking for any sugar spillover or anything else. Her sugar level came back fine but her electrolyte level came back very diluted so the doctor sent us to the hospital lab to have her blood drawn. We never heard anything back all weekend long which she had said "no news is good news" and then on Monday, July 28th the doctor called just to let me know that all the labs came back just fine!! Thank you Lord!

Both the kids did very well for having to be pincushions on Friday!

Birthday Pinata

Getting Dirty...

So it rained again this morning thus causing mud which Emma is drawn to!!! The girl is very quick and before I had a chance to see what she was doing it was too late -- she had already gotten dirty so I decided to just let her have at it and got the camera to take some comical pictures.

Then after she got her hands all dirty she was going to try wiping them on me and of course I gave her a reaction of something like "Eww" and Emma thought that was hilarious so she started chasing me around the yard trying to get me dirty too...the picture below this is of me running backyards (if you can picture that) and snapping a pic of her chasing me (that's why it is a little blurry). She thought this was so funny and was squealing with delight -- it was a fun night!!!

(PS - Needless to say we are all feeling much better after having been hit with a flu bug).

Go Figure...

So I checked the extended forecast for the day of Emma's birthday party and this is what I came up with...go figure. It is Kansas though and the forecast could change a dozen times between now and the party. Accuweather predicts: High 85, rather cloudy and humid with showers and thunderstorms. Rain or shine...the party WILL go on!!!!

Princess Hat

This hat used to belong to me as a little girl and now it's my daughters!!!! I believe the story behind it is my parents bought it for me at a Renaissance Festival many (many) years ago.

Today we worked down in Grandpa Randy's workshop shucking corn and while doing so Emma had fun going out into the light rain and splashing around in puddles!!! After we got done working in the shop Grandma Nancy gave her a bath in the kitchen sink!!!

Conner's 1st Food

It was a little messy but not too bad!!!!
Yummy.....I must not have been going fast enough for him in between bites as he started to gnaw on his fingers.
Today I gave Conner his first taste of rice cereal and he did pretty good with it! It's hard to believe he is to the point of being able to start taking baby cereal. He is now 3 months & 4 days old.

Sleeping Babies

Both kids fell asleep and Lewis put Conner next to Emma to get their pictures taken together. If Emma only knew she was sleeping that close to her little brother she would have gotten up and moved away. She still isn't overly thrilled with her little brother but she is getting there -- just very slowly!!!

For once I didn't have the camera at hand and so I wasn't able to catch the very hilarious part of Conner cracking up at one of Grandma Nancy & Grandpa Randy's dogs. In the beginning of this video you can kind of get an idea of how very amused he was by the dog. It was really neat to see him staying so focused on the dog for a such a long time!!!!

This is just a video of Conner lounging on one of the patio chairs while we were all outside enjoying the very nice evening. He was really a talking!!!!

Emma's 1st Corn On The Cob

Tonight we had birthday dinner up at Grandma Nancy & Grandpa Randy's house and corn on the cob was one item on the very yummy menu that Grandma cooked. This was Emma's very 1st time of eating it off the cob!!! She is definitely her father's daughter -- Lewis LOVES to eat corn on the cob too!!!!
