Double Binkies

Emma was walking around the other day with 2 of her binkies in her mouth and being a little clown!!! She tends to "stash" her binkies in hiding places in her room and just when we think we've lost them all they tend to resurface.

Emma & Conner Newborn Pictures

It's pretty amazing how similar Emma and Conner look alike in their hospital pictures!!! There is no denying they are brother and sister!!! When Emma was born (20 months ago) she was 6 pounds 14 ounces and 19 1/4 inches long. Conner's birth weight was 7 pounds 13 ounces and is 19 inches long.

Wide Eyed & Ready To Come Home...

He has been sleeping a lot and so since he was finally awake I had to snap a couple of pictures. We got to come home today, 04.10.2008.

Soaking Up Some Rays...

We found out on the day we were supposed to get to come home (Wednesday) that Conner had jaundice just enough to keep us in the hospital another day so they could treat him. They put him under these lights for around 14+ hours and brought him out only to eat and change his diaper. It did help bring his bilirubin count down into the safe zone and we were able to come home today, 04.10.2008. We have to go back to the clinic tomorrow morning and they will recheck his bilirubin levels again to make sure that it has stayed in the "safe zone".

PS - He LOVES his belly time and notice how he has his ankles crossed over each other and his little behind sticking up in the air. Too cute!!!!

Digging In.....

We bought Emma this sandbox/waterbox and she LOVES it!!!! She spent a solid hour or more playing around in the sand and water. It was a great investment.

Fun Shopping Cart

Today we went and got some last minute groceries and Emma was NOT being a happy camper until we put her in the cart that looks like a race car -- made our shopping experience MUCH nicer as she was being entertained by pretending to drive the car. This was the very first time we've used one of these shopping carts and although they are fairly bulky once you learn how to steer it, it was a life saver!!!! 04.05.2008

PS - Yes her hair looks crazy in this picture and it's because we had been in and out of the vehicle a few times and it was crazy windy out.

Ice Cream Cone

Today I gave Emma an ice cream cone to eat on her own. She did very well with it until it started melting some. I forgot to get a 'finished' picture to show the ice cream all over! She really enjoyed eating the end of the cone as there was chocolate in the bottom!!!!

Conner's Almost Here...

Hello All,

If I don't go into labor on my own between now and this coming Monday (April 7th) then they will be inducing me that morning. We are to check in to the hospital at 7am. We are very excited and can't wait to meet our little guy.

Last night we ate at Carlos O'Kelly's with Grandma Nancy & Grandpa Randy. We gave Emma the lime out of Grandpa Randy's drink....watch her reaction!!! It was so funny!!! Make sure your sound is on.

PS - The contractions I had about a week ago haven't occurred since.....we're still pregnant.....10 days to go until his due date (I'm thinking at this rate we'll make it till then).

Laundry Girl

I was getting ready to fold and put away a bunch of Emma's clothes when the next thing I knew she had dumped the basket of clothes out on the floor and laid in the middle of the pile. She then started stacking clothes on top of her and making snoring noises like she was sleeping. I had to get a picture of her being silly!!!

Emma's 1st Easter Egg Hunt

Today was the annual Easter Egg Hunt where we live and it was in the park so all we had to do was walk right on over. Emma had a great time picking up eggs once the hunt began. She ended up with several eggs. They had little prizes inside of them such as balloons, stickers and stamps. When we got home with the basket of eggs she had fun dumping them all out on our living room floor and taking them apart. It was a little on the cool side but not too bad....at least it hadn't started raining yet!!!!

This was Emma's first time of sitting in a "big girl" swing.
This slide was much larger than the one we normally play on at our local park.
Today, a friend of mine (Michelle) that I've known since grade school was back in town so Emma and I went and picked her up and headed over to the local grade school to let Emma play on some different playground equipment. This was the first time in YEARS that either Michelle or I had been back on the playground and nothing was the same. Brand new toys, etc. Emma (despite having little temper tantrums here and there) had a fun time checking out all the different play toys. It was nice to go to the grade school today to not only give Emma a taste of something new to play on but it was nice to also reminisce about our dorky grade school days with Michelle!!! LOL.

First Time Playing with Play-Doh

Emma did a very good job playing with Play-Doh for the first time. She was very serious taking the Play-Doh out of the containers and then smashing it around. I think I need to get some little cookie cutters so we can cut out shapes next time.
Yes, she did attempt to eat the Play-Doh but just once. She actually just licked it and said "Yuck" so I guess that is good that I won't really have to worry about her eating it all!!!

Tonight while playing some Elvis Presley Emma was trying to snap her fingers and groove to the music! We really hope that she continues to love music as she grows older because right now anytime she hears music playing she starts trying to sing along and starts dancing!

OB Appointment, 03-04-2008

This morning I had a regular OB appointment. In measuring me my midwife said that I was measuring at 36 weeks (I'm just getting ready to start week #35 tomorrow, 03-05-08) so either Conner is going to be a little bit bigger than Emma was OR he will be a little here a little earlier than our April 9th due date. Everything else is going well and I'm still feeling pretty good....just getting tired more and sleeping is becoming a real chore as I have a hard time getting comfortable. We can't wait to meet our little man!!!!

Monte took these pictures while having Christmas 2007 with Lewis' side of the family in Nebraska. They are a little out of order (date wise) in conjunction with other pictures on our blog but we just received them in the mail today. Emma's 1st Haircut

I thought this is how all of Emma's 1st haircut would go--her crying. It just took some getting used to, a fast stylist and some bribery (animal cookies & raisins) to get her to sit still!!!

Emma ended up doing such a good job sitting in the chair for her 1st haircut.
